Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, Inver Grove Heights, Minn. : Islamic Relief Worldwide , an organization that allegedly has links to jihadism and terrorism, sponsored this charter school , which requires Arabic as a second language. The academy's name openly celebrates Islamic imperialism, as Tarek ibn Ziyad led Muslim troops in their conquest of Spain in 711 A.D. Local journalists report that “a visitor might well mistake Tarek ibn Ziyad [Academy] for an Islamic school” because of the women wearing hijabs, the carpeted prayer area, the school closing down for Islamic holidays, everyone keeping the Ramadan fast, the cafeteria serving halal food, classes breaking for prayer, almost all the children praying, and the constant use of “Brother” and “Sister” when adults at the school address each other. मीनेसोटा के इनवर ग्रोव हाइट्स की तारिक इब्न जियाद अकादमी- अरबी को द्वितीय भाषा के रूप में मान्य इस विद्यालय को इस्लामिक रिलीफ वर्ल्डवाइड ने प्रायोजित कर रखा है जिस संगठन के सम्बन्ध जिहादवाद और आतंकवाद से हैं। इस अकादमी का नाम खुले रूप में इस्लामी साम्राज्यवाद का उल्लास मनाता है क्योंकि तारिक इब्न जियाद ने 711 ई. में स्पेन में विजय के लिये मुस्लिम सेना का नेतृत्व किया था। स्थानीय पत्रकार की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार “ मुसलमानों के हिजाब धारण करने के कारण, प्रार्थना स्थल की कालीन, इस्लामी अवकाशों पर विद्यालय की बन्दी, सभी द्वारा रमजान का व्रत, हलाल भोजन , कक्षाओं के बीच में प्रार्थना, लगभग सभी विद्यार्थियों द्वारा प्रार्थना और वयस्कों द्वारा एक दूसरे को सम्बोधित करने पर भाई और बहन शब्द का प्रयोग” ।
